F/C Still Standing But Barely

I think this is pretty ironic.  The welcome sign from Mrs. Teague's classroom is still beaconing you to enter.
So sad to see my old room disappear.

 The back of the F/C.
It's amazing to see all the junk that has come out of the old school.  They spend hours out there just sorting it into piles.

F/C Ready for Demolition - June 24, 2012

I knew that the F/C was slated for demolition this coming week so I took a ride down to the school to see what was going on.  I couldn't believe how the landscape had changed in just a week's time.  Parking lots have been torn up and everything is moved away from the building.

These pipes will probably be ready to go into the ground after the demolition.
Goodbye F/C, there are lots of memories inside of your walls.

Site Visit March 23, 2012

I went on a tour of the new building this morning without the students before school started.  It's amazing to see how much has been done since early Feb., I will be taking the kids out again in May.

This was actually shot from the door near the FC library.

The new library, not much different from other photos I've posted.

The gym is really looking good.  This is a huge space which can be divided into two.  There will be bleachers over by the orange wall.
The hallway in the 3rd grade wing.  Nice to see so much wallboard up!

Some cabinetry in an area that has several small work rooms around it.  I'm assuming it will be part of the BEST program perhaps.
This is one of the rectangular 3rd grade classrooms.
The small breakout room between the two rectangular rooms.
The same rectangular room.  You can see where the Smartboard will go no the right hand side.
Inside one of the cabinets!  Nice to be able to see how we'll be able to put our supplies.
The stage which is part of the lunchroom.
Teachers lunchroom.  Smaller than what we have now but it will do just fine.
Part of the cafeteria.  It's hard to imagine it's size here since there are a lot of materials stored in here.  It's huge and has a wall of windows behind where I was standing.

The school is really taking shape and I'm getting excited about moving in!

School Visit Early Feburary

Here are the photos from the 2nd half of the group.  I have to say there were many out of focus photos on this trip so not everyone is posted here.  We'll try to make up for that on our next trip.

Here are photos from Choloe:

I think this is a view from the back of the library out.  We were probably standing on one of the bridges over the library.
A view of the FC rooftop from one of the classroom windows.  We were in the 6th grade wing.

Photos from Joe or Mark - they were sharing a camera.

An outside view of the side of the building.

Photos from Piper

Upstairs in the 6th grade wing.

Inside the gym.

A shot of the library from the bridge.
These would be of the 6th grade wing.
